The Work

The Human Resources Project consists of three works measuring 48 x 64 inches, painted with oil on birch panel. The portraits represent approximately one year of work by the artist, spending 25 to 40 hours per week in the application of hundreds of very thin layers of oil glazes. The result is a rendering with uncommon depth and detail, and an ultra-smooth surface that is completely devoid of brush strokes, leaving many viewers puzzled as to the methods employed to create the painting. Viewers have often commented that the surface is very inviting to the touch.

A studio visit can be scheduled if you are interested in viewing the work in person. You can reach me at the e-mail listed at the bottom of this page, or call 858-336-6678 to schedule a visit.
